What is Public transport

Going out on buses is easiest at quiet times of the day when they are
less crowded. Try to choose a stop where the bus can stop close to the
pavement because the bus platform will be an even higher step up from the
road.
Dial-a-ride and other voluntary transport schemes for disabled people
operate in various parts of the country. Some take only wheelchair users
while others take those who have difficulty in walking. The local Social
Services department or Citizens’ Advice Bureau should have details.
British Rail will make special arrangements to help disabled people
provided notification is given in advance, in writing if possible.
Most airports will give similar help. A request for assistance should be
made through the airline when the ticket is, booked and confirmed the day
before the flight.
