“Nutritionally concerned individuals should try to eat more
whole grains, fruits and vegetables but less sugar, fat and salt,” says
Professor Louise W. Hamilton, a registered dietician and teacher of
foods and nutrition at Penn State University. Here are some sug-
gestions offered by Prof. Hamilton to help you enzyme eat your way
to youthful health:2
fruits and vegetables. Prof. Hamilton says fiber “should be increased
Boost Fiber Intake. Sources of fiber include whole grains,
in our daily diet plan.” Iron Is Important. To get enough of this mineral (which
works with enzymes for collagen manufacture) “concentrate on
meats, praticularly liver, and on whole grains. Dried fruits such as
raisins and molasses and egg yolk have a lot of iron,” suggests the
professor.
Dining Out. “When eating in restaurants, avoid fried foods.
These provide too many calories and fat. Soft drinks provide too
much sugar. Milk-based beverages are better than soft drinks, but
keep within your calorie needs. Salad bars are a good addition to
fast food restaurants as well as to other restaurants. It’s a good sign,
nutritionally speaking,” comments Prof. Hamilton.
Preparing Foods. “How food is prepared is important. Fried
foods are higher in calories and more difficult to digest. Eat boiled.
broiled or baked foods.”
Cooking Vegetables. Prof. Hamilton says that overcooking
vegetables is an enzyme-destroying mistake. “It destroys nutrients,
color, taste, texture. Cook only until succulent, in a minimum of
water.”
Losing Weight. “Eat less, but choose each food carefully for
the nutrients it provides.”
Basic Guidelines. Prof. Hamilton says, “You must eat a
variety of foods to maintain the balance of nutrients your body
needs. Each nutrient has a SPECIFIC USE in your body. These
nutrients work together. You can eat your way to better health
with this proper enzyme balance.”
You can enrich your health by enzyme-collagen nourish-
ment of your digestive system. Within hours, your newly repaired
organs of digestion can help you look and feel more alive than ever
before! It’s all up to you…and your selection of foods!
