Basics: Cholesterol is a fat-like substance that is essential to
the health of your body organs. It is produced by your body. But
it is also found in foods (exclusively of animal origin). Problem:
Eating an excess of foods from animal sources can cause what is
called a “cholesterol overload.” If this happens, the fatty deposits
tend to cling to your arteries and predispose to a condition known
as atherosclerosis. That is, there is a clogging of blood vessels by
excessive cholesterol and other materials and this may lead to a
heart attack or stroke. What To Do: Begin by controlling your in-
take of excessive amounts of saturated and cholesterol-containing
foods. Then, give your body the working materials found in raw
foods that will create a dynamic, almost miraculous reaction that
will help dissolve and wash out excessive fatty deposits from your
system.
