How to Be Good (and Healthy) to Your Hair

To nourish your “crowning glory” you need to keep your
hair in good enzyme active condition. Here are several easy-to-
follow programs that put new life (and hair) into your scalp’s tresses:
1. A weekly shampoo and daily brushing are important.
Whether you have problem hair or naturally beautiful hair, brushing
daily will make it more shiny and healthy right down to your roots.
A hundred strokes a day will do it…well worth the time. Good
exercise, too.
2. For Blondes Only: Rinse your hair in a brew made of
water. Or use grapefruit juice to rinse.                                                                                                                   3. For Brunettes Only  Try a brew of rosemary steeped in
water and drained. Makes for great highlights and sheen.
4. Oily hair? Beat two egg whites until stiff and then apply
this pure protein to your scalp with an old toothbrush. Let the whites
dry and then brush thoroughly. Shampoo off.
5. Dry hair? Rub castor oil into your scalp at bedtime and
shampoo in the morning (reserve an old pillowcase for oil-treat-
ment use). Treat twice a week for a few weeks, then once every two
weeks. It will make your hair shiny and more healthy. Note: If you
don’t want to leave the oil on all night, rub the castor oil well into
your scalp and steam it in by pressing a hot towel on your head.
Shampoo well.
6. Dandruff? Try mixing equal amounts of vinegar and
water, part your hair and apply well to your scalp with cotton be-
fore shampooing.
7. Hair nourishment? Beat one raw egg lightly with a fork
and rub well into your scalp, using it as a substitute for shampoo.
Prime source of enzymes, and also important cystine. Rinse well
with warm water.
8. Natural Setting Lotion. You can enzyme-protein enrich
your hair by combining ordinary milk with a little bit of lemon juice.
Use it as a setting lotion. It adds body and luster to your hair, nour-
ishes your scalp and leaves no flakiness or odor. How To Use: After
shampoo and rinse, spray on the milk-lemon juice combo with an
atomizer, comb through your hair and set as usual.
